This month marks a milestone for our family — our eldest daughter, Kira, has officially graduated from high school here in Nairobi!
Graduation day was filled with joy, reflection, and just a few happy tears. Kira didn’t just walk across that stage — she soared. She received multiple honors, including Artist of the Year and Female Athlete of the Year. If you know Kira, you know this makes perfect sense. She’s always had that rare blend of creativity and competitive drive.
So… what’s next for Kira?
This August, she’s heading to the United States to begin an exciting new chapter at Queens University of Charlotte in North Carolina. She’s been awarded both academic and athletic scholarships, and will be playing Division I women’s rugby for the Queens Royals!
That’s right — rugby! Queens is one of the few U.S. universities with a D1 women’s rugby program, and Kira is thrilled (and just a little nervous) to join their ranks. She reports for pre-season training on August 14th, and we can already picture her tackling new challenges, making lifelong teammates, and thriving both on and off the pitch.
To say we’re proud is an understatement. We’re also deeply grateful — to God, to Kira’s mentors and coaches, and to all of you who’ve supported her journey from Nairobi to Charlotte.
Go Royals! 💙🏉👑

From Karis and Caleb and Fraley Clan, congratulations Kira we are proud of you! .. What an awesome adventure you are on ... May God bless you through it. We live 3 hours away if you need a home cooked meal:).
Congratulations to Kira! What a way to shine. I did not know that there was women's rugby in the US, but it is very exciting. I will be praying for her and you all as she begins this new adventure.
